Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Use form an agreement between you and the operator of TempSMTP.uk. By accessing the website, creating a temporary address, reading a message, downloading an attachment or otherwise using the service, you agree to follow these terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not use the service. If you use TempSMTP.uk on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

2. Eligibility

You must be legally capable of agreeing to these terms. If you are below the age at which you can consent to an online service in your jurisdiction, you may use TempSMTP.uk only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

You must not use the service if doing so is prohibited by applicable law, sanctions, a binding court order or another legal restriction that applies to you.

3. What TempSMTP.uk provides

TempSMTP.uk provides temporary email addresses that can receive messages for a limited period. The service may allow you to view message details, read supported message content, download supported attachments, delete individual messages and replace or delete the current mailbox.

The service is intended for lawful, low-risk and short-term activities such as software testing, non-sensitive confirmations, public downloads and temporary trials. It is not a permanent email account, identity service, encrypted messenger, confidential document store, backup system or guaranteed delivery service.

The core mailbox may be offered without registration. We may introduce, remove or change features, domains, technical limits or access methods over time.

4. Temporary access, expiry and deletion

Every mailbox has a limited lifetime shown by the interface. The configured lifetime may change, and the countdown displayed for a particular mailbox is the best indication of when it is expected to expire.

Mailboxes, access tokens, messages, attachment data and related content may expire, be deleted or become unavailable without recovery. Automated cleanup can remove data after expiry. If you delete a message or mailbox yourself, the action may be immediate and irreversible.

You are solely responsible for copying any non-sensitive information you are lawfully entitled to retain before the mailbox expires. Use a secure permanent address for password recovery, purchases, receipts, warranties, subscriptions and any account that must remain accessible.

5. Mailbox access and your responsibilities

Your browser receives temporary access information used to open the active mailbox. You must keep that information private, use the mailbox only for your own lawful purposes and avoid sharing access with anyone who should not see its messages.

You are responsible for activity carried out using a mailbox you create or control. If you suspect that temporary access information has been exposed, delete or replace the mailbox where possible and stop using it for further messages.

Do not attempt to access another person's mailbox, guess or collect mailbox credentials, bypass access controls, or claim ownership of an address or message that you are not authorised to use.

6. Acceptable use

You may use TempSMTP.uk only in compliance with applicable law, these terms and the rules of any third-party service with which you use the address. You must not use or attempt to use the service to:

Send, support or facilitate spam, unsolicited marketing or abusive messaging

Commit or assist fraud, phishing, impersonation, identity theft or payment abuse

Distribute, receive or coordinate malware, ransomware or other harmful code

Harass, threaten, exploit, deceive or unlawfully monitor another person

Access accounts, systems, data or communications without authorisation

Receive, distribute or request content that is illegal in the relevant jurisdiction

Evade bans, sanctions, age restrictions, payment controls or law-enforcement measures

Create accounts or claim benefits in breach of a third party's terms or eligibility rules

Infringe privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property or other legal rights

Probe, scan, scrape, reverse-engineer or interfere with the service or its infrastructure

Circumvent rate limits, mailbox limits, security controls or access restrictions

Use automated systems at a volume that degrades the service or imposes unreasonable load

Resell, mirror or commercially exploit the service without written permission

Encourage, instruct or assist another person to carry out prohibited activity

Examples are illustrative and not exhaustive. An activity may still be prohibited if it creates legal, security, operational or reputational risk for TempSMTP.uk, its providers, users or third parties.

7. Enforcement and abuse prevention

We may use automated and manual controls to protect the service. These can include rate limits, request validation, domain restrictions, mailbox limits, security challenges, traffic filtering and blocking of suspicious requests.

Where we reasonably suspect misuse, we may restrict or terminate access, delete mailboxes or messages, block technical identifiers, preserve relevant evidence, notify affected providers or respond to lawful requests from authorities. We are not required to provide advance notice when doing so could undermine security, an investigation or legal compliance.

You can report suspected abuse through the Contact page. Include enough non-sensitive information for us to understand the issue, but do not send passwords, full payment details or live mailbox credentials.

8. Incoming email, links and attachments

Messages are created and sent by third parties. TempSMTP.uk does not endorse, verify or control their identity, claims, links, files or instructions. A displayed sender name or address can be inaccurate or forged.

Email content may be harmful, offensive, deceptive, unlawful or technically unsafe. You are responsible for deciding whether to open a link, download a file or act on a message. Use appropriate security software and never enter credentials or payment details because an unexpected email asks you to do so.

The service may parse, sanitise, truncate, block or omit message content and attachments for security or technical reasons. Unsupported or oversized content may not be stored or displayed. These controls reduce some risks but do not guarantee that content is safe.

You must have a lawful basis to receive, view, copy or download any content that reaches a temporary mailbox. Receiving a message through TempSMTP.uk does not grant ownership or permission to use third-party content.

9. Third-party websites and services

Websites where you enter a TempSMTP.uk address are independent from us. They may reject disposable domains, delay or withhold messages, suspend accounts created with temporary addresses, or apply their own terms and privacy policies.

We do not guarantee that any third party will accept a temporary address, deliver a message, maintain an account or provide access to a product. You are responsible for reading and following the third party's rules.

Links on our website or in incoming messages may lead to third-party services. A link does not mean we endorse or control that service, and we are not responsible for its content, availability, security or data practices.

10. Your content and communications

You retain any rights you lawfully hold in information you submit through a support form. You grant us permission to process that information only as reasonably necessary to deliver, secure and support the service, respond to your request, investigate abuse and comply with law.

Do not submit content that you do not have the right to provide. You are responsible for ensuring that support messages and other communications are accurate, lawful and do not violate another person's rights.

11. Intellectual property

The TempSMTP.uk name, visual design, website code, original text, graphics and other service materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except where law permits otherwise, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease or create derivative commercial services from those materials without written permission.

Third-party names, trademarks, email content and linked materials belong to their respective owners. These terms do not transfer ownership of any TempSMTP.uk or third-party intellectual property to you.

If you send suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them without restriction or payment, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.

12. Availability, maintenance and changes

The service is provided subject to technical capacity and may be unavailable, delayed or interrupted. Causes can include maintenance, software errors, network failures, provider outages, email-routing problems, attacks, legal requirements or events outside our reasonable control.

We may add, remove or change domains, mailbox lifetimes, attachment support, message limits, interfaces and other features. We may suspend or discontinue some or all of the service without guaranteeing continued access to any address or message.

No service-level commitment is created unless the operator has expressly agreed to one in a separate written contract.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. Where controls are available, you may delete the current message or mailbox before leaving.

We may restrict, suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms, created risk for the service or another person, caused excessive technical load, or exposed us or a provider to legal liability. Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination will remain effective, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, liability and dispute provisions.

14. No professional advice

Content on TempSMTP.uk is provided for general information. It is not legal, cybersecurity, financial, medical or other professional advice. You should obtain qualified advice for decisions involving significant risk, rights or obligations.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TempSMTP.uk is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, compatible with every website or suitable for a particular purpose.

We do not guarantee creation of a particular address, acceptance by a third party, delivery or timing of a message, accuracy of parsed content, availability of an attachment, continued access until the displayed expiry time, or recovery after deletion or expiry.

Nothing in these terms limits any warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

16. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service operator and its providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, opportunity, goodwill, data, messages, accounts or business continuity arising from or connected with TempSMTP.uk.

This includes loss resulting from an expired or deleted mailbox, a missed or delayed message, reliance on third-party content, an unsafe link or attachment, rejection of a disposable address, unauthorised access caused by exposed mailbox credentials, service interruption, or use of a temporary address for an important account.

Where liability cannot be excluded, it will be limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

17. Responsibility for claims

To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for losses, claims and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, your deliberate violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person's rights. This section does not apply where such responsibility cannot lawfully be imposed on you as a consumer.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, law, security risks or providers. The date at the top indicates the latest published version. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where reasonably appropriate.

By continuing to use the service after updated terms take effect, you agree to the revised terms where permitted by law. If you do not agree with an update, you must stop using TempSMTP.uk.

19. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law applicable to the service operator, excluding conflict-of-law rules where permitted. Courts with lawful jurisdiction over the operator may hear disputes, subject to any mandatory right you have as a consumer to use the courts or dispute procedures in your place of residence.

Before starting formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us and explain the issue so both sides can try to resolve it informally. This does not prevent either party from seeking urgent relief or using a legal right that cannot be waived.

20. General provisions

If any part of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a permanent waiver of that provision.

You may not transfer your rights or obligations under these terms where doing so would create additional risk for the service. We may transfer the agreement as part of a genuine business reorganisation or transfer of the service, subject to applicable law.

These terms and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement concerning ordinary use of the public TempSMTP.uk service, unless a separate written agreement applies.

21. Contact

Questions about these terms, intellectual property or suspected abuse can be submitted through the Contact page.
